Special facts

A 1995 3-rouble coin for the 50th anniversary of the signing of Germany's unconditional surrender at Karlshorst on the night of 8–9 May 1945. Field Marshal Wilhelm Keitel signed for Germany and Marshal Georgy Zhukov for the USSR. A preliminary act had been signed in Rheims the day before, which is why Europe marks Victory Day on 8 May.

About the period

The coins and banknotes of the Bank of Russia of 1992–1996 were the first money of the Russian Federation. They were issued in years of high inflation: denominations grew fast, and the metal of the coins got cheaper. More about the period “Bank of Russia”, 1992 — 1996
