Special facts

The Primorsky Territory in the south of the Far East faces the Sea of Japan; its centre is Vladivostok. The Amur tiger lives and ginseng grows in the territory's Ussuri taiga. The Trans-Siberian Railway ends in Vladivostok, and in 2012 a cable-stayed bridge was thrown across to Russky Island. The 10-rouble coin "Primorye Territory" was issued in 2006 in the "Russian Federation" series.

About the period

Modern Russia is the money after the redenomination of 1998, when a thousand old roubles became one new rouble. The coins and banknotes of the 1997 pattern are still in circulation. More about the period “Modern Russia”, 1997 — to present
