Special facts
The Komi Republic, with its capital in Syktyvkar, lies in the north-east of European Russia. Its virgin forests were Russia's first natural UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here too, in the Northern Urals, stand the weathering pillars of the Manpupuner plateau. The 10-rouble coin "Komi Republic" was issued in 2009 in the "Russian Federation" series.
