Series, cashiers and factories

The cashier — one of six — is set by the series and block number. The note was printed at three Goznak factories: the First Moscow factory printed series АА and АЛ, the Ural (Perm) factory АГ, and the Penza factory ББ. Series planned at the Rostov factory (АН, АР, АУ, АЦ) and a Perm series НН were never printed.

Watermark, error and specimens

The paper carries a star watermark. A misprint is known: the German word 'PROLETARIER' in the reverse slogan is printed as 'PROLETAPIER' — found on series АА, АЛ and АГ. Specimens are perforated or overprinted with «ОБРАЗЕЦ», tied to notes from the First Moscow and Ural factories.

Appearance

The front is printed in brown: the value "5000", the inscription "РАСЧЕТНЫЙ ЗНАК РОССИЙСКОЙ СОЦИАЛИСТИЧЕСКОЙ ФЕДЕРАТИВНОЙ СОВЕТСКОЙ РЕСПУБЛИКИ", the signatures of the People's Commissar of Finance and a cashier; the block number is in the lower right corner. On the reverse the RSFSR coat of arms sits at the top center, and around the value in six languages — Russian, German, French, Italian, Chinese and Arabic — runs the slogan "Workers of the world, unite!". Size: 112 × 77 mm.

About the period

The settlement notes of 1920–1921 were the last money of the RSFSR before the redenomination of 1922. In two years the denominations grew from 3 to 100,000 roubles. More about the period “Settlement notes”, 1920 — 1921
