At the redenomination of 1922 the thousand-ruble note of 1921 was worth a ten-kopek piece in new money.

Issue, watermarks and specimens

In circulation from June 1921. The paper occurs in four varieties: with a watermark of the value numerals '1000' (Pick 112a), small stars (112b), large stars (112c) and lozenges (112d). Specimens are perforated «ОБРАЗЕЦ».

Appearance

The obverse shows the RSFSR coat of arms on the left, 'РАСЧЕТНЫЙ ЗНАК' and the value '1000 РУБЛЕЙ' at the centre, and 'ОБЕСПЕЧИВАЕТСЯ ВСЕМ ДОСТОЯНИЕМ РЕСПУБЛИКИ' below. The printing is red, and the reverse is almost blank, showing only a background pattern in the same colour. The note measures 83 × 47 mm.

About the period

The settlement notes of 1920–1921 were the last money of the RSFSR before the redenomination of 1922. In two years the denominations grew from 3 to 100,000 roubles. More about the period “Settlement notes”, 1920 — 1921
