Series, cashiers and factories

The cashier — one of six — is set by the series and block number; each block accounted for 2 million notes. The note was printed at three Goznak factories: the First Moscow factory printed series АБ, the Ural (Perm) factory БА, and the Penza factory ВГ. Series planned at the Rostov factory (АО, АТ, АЦ, АЫ) were never printed.

Watermark and a numbering oddity

The paper carries a star watermark. Block АА-065 shows an oddity: series АА should not exist at all for this denomination — most likely, a simple numbering slip.

Appearance

The obverse is dark red on a light red underprint: the value '10000' and the inscription «РАСЧЕТНЫЙ ЗНАК РОССИЙСКОЙ СОЦИАЛИСТИЧЕСКОЙ ФЕДЕРАТИВНОЙ СОВЕТСКОЙ РЕСПУБЛИКИ», the signatures of the People's Commissar of Finance and a cashier, and the block number in the lower right corner. The reverse has the RSFSR coat of arms at the centre, with the slogan 'Workers of the world, unite!' in five languages around the value. The note measures 127 × 92 mm.

About the period

The settlement notes of 1920–1921 were the last money of the RSFSR before the redenomination of 1922. In two years the denominations grew from 3 to 100,000 roubles. More about the period “Settlement notes”, 1920 — 1921
