Banknotes of the 2009 pattern
The Belarusian roubles of the 2009 pattern (5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 200 and 500 roubles) entered circulation on 1 July 2016 with the redenomination (10,000 to 1) and are dated 2009. They were printed by De La Rue of London. The front of each note shows an architectural monument of Belarus and the back a collage on a theme shared by the denomination; the halftone watermark repeats a fragment of the front image. The notes carry the facsimile of Pyotar Prakapovich, Chairman of the Board of the National Bank. A commemorative set "My Country — Belarus" was issued with the series on 1 July 2016: a thousand booklets, each with one note of every value from 5 to 500 roubles under the same special number.
Appearance
Fifty-rouble note of the 2009 pattern. The front shows Mir Castle in Mir, Grodno Region; the back a collage on art: a lyre with laurel branches, a quill, a sheet of paper and a musical stave. The halftone watermark repeats a fragment of the front image; the windowed metallised security thread is narrow. Size 147 × 72 mm. Dated 2009 and issued on 1 July 2016; it carries the facsimile of Pyotar Prakapovich. Printed by De La Rue, London. The early notes spell the number in the earlier Belarusian orthography. Notes from the commemorative set "My Country — Belarus" (1,000 copies) with a special series and number are known.
