Special facts
The Church of the Transfiguration on the front was built around 1161 by the architect Ioann for the convent of Euphrosyne of Polotsk. Its twelfth-century frescoes survive.
Appearance
Ten-rouble note of the 2009 pattern. The front shows the Church of the Saviour and Transfiguration in Polotsk, Vitebsk Region; the back a collage on enlightenment and printing: the sign of Francysk Skaryna, the Cross of Euphrosyne of Polotsk and an ornament fragment. The halftone watermark repeats a fragment of the front image; the windowed metallised security thread is narrow. Size 139 × 72 mm. Dated 2009 and issued on 1 July 2016; it carries the facsimile of Pyotar Prakapovich. Printed by De La Rue, London. Notes from the commemorative set "My Country — Belarus" (1,000 copies) with a special series and number are known.
