Special facts

Kerch is a Hero City: in 1941–1944 it changed hands twice, the landings of the Kerch–Feodosia and Kerch–Eltigen operations came ashore here, and an underground garrison fought in the Adzhimushkay quarries. Kerch received the title of Hero City in 1973. This 2-rouble coin on Kerch was issued in 2017 in the Hero Cities series.

About the period

Modern Russia is the money after the redenomination of 1998, when a thousand old roubles became one new rouble. The coins and banknotes of the 1997 pattern are still in circulation. More about the period “Modern Russia”, 1997 — to present
