Special facts
Kolpino stayed on the front line of Leningrad's defence throughout the blockade: workers of the Izhora Plant formed a battalion and held the front right by the factory walls. Kolpino grew up around the Izhora works, founded under Peter I to serve the navy. The 10-rouble coin "Kolpino" was issued in 2014 in the "Cities of Military Glory" series.
