During the war 139 enterprises in Kazan worked for the front, and every sixth combat aircraft was built at Kazan aircraft plants. In Kazan Valentin Glushko and Sergei Korolev worked on the first Soviet liquid-fuel jet engines for aircraft. The 10-rouble coin "Kazan" was issued in 2022 in the "Cities of Labour Valour" series.
