At left a portico with the monogram of Alexander III among laurel leaves, with a draped cloth carrying the state arms between the columns. About the period
The credit notes of 1887–1896 were the last issues before the Witte currency reform, while the paper rouble was still promised to be exchanged for silver or gold coin. The new designs appeared under Alexander III, and in 1895–1896 they were printed with the monogram of Nicholas II. More about the period “State credit notes”, 1887 — 1896
