Special facts

Dorogobuzh in the Smolensk Region is first mentioned in 1150. The town lived through the war of 1812, and a monument to its heroes stands in Dorogobuzh. In February 1942 partisans liberated Dorogobuzh, and a partisan zone held out around it for several months. The 10-rouble coin "Dorogobuzh" was issued in 2003 in the "Ancient Towns of Russia" series.

About the period

Modern Russia is the money after the redenomination of 1998, when a thousand old roubles became one new rouble. The coins and banknotes of the 1997 pattern are still in circulation. More about the period “Modern Russia”, 1997 — to present
