Special facts
The symbol of the liberation of Europe from fascism became the Soldier-Liberator monument in Berlin’s Treptower Park, unveiled in 1949. The monument was created by the sculptor Yevgeny Vuchetich, and its subject is linked with Sergeant Nikolai Masalov, who rescued a German girl in Berlin. The 10-rouble coin "Liberation of the World from Fascism" was issued in 2015 in the "70th Anniversary of the Victory of the Soviet People in the Great Patriotic War of 1941–1945" series.
