Two watermark forms

The watermark is corners across most of the series and, on a late sub-range, large shadow stars; signed by all ten cashiers there, same as on the main range.

Appearance

Both sides are grey-brown, on a grey ground: a guilloché pattern with the value «50» and the word «РУБЛЕЙ», the RSFSR coat of arms at upper left, a serial number printed twice, the year «1923», and the signatures of the People's Commissar of Finance and a cashier. The reverse has an ornamental frame and the value in the corners, the text set in eight lines. The note measures 138 × 90 mm.

About the period

The state currency notes of 1923 were the second and last sovznak issue. One rouble of 1923 equalled 100 roubles of the 1922 pattern. More about the period “State currency notes”, 1923
