5 rubles — RSFSR (1920)

Пятирублёвый расчётный знак выпуска 1920 года. Его санкционировал декрет Совнаркома от 26 ноября 1920 года, а в обращение он вышел в феврале 1921 года; выпускал Бюджетно-расчётный отдел Наркомата финансов. Даты, подписей и номеров на знаке нет. Печатали способом Орлова. Выпуск — 536,6 млн рублей. Из обращения знаки начали убирать с середины 1921 года; выпуск закончился 1 июля 1922 года, а обмен на рубли образца 1922 года по курсу 10 000 к 1 шёл до 1 ноября 1922 года.

The notes were printed in sheets of 20 (4 × 5, 100 roubles per sheet) and cut apart by hand. A full sheet is worth more than single notes (Denisov catalogue: К3-14л). Four paper types are known: with a lozenge watermark (К3-14, Pick 85a), spades (К3-14.1, 85b), stars (К3-14.2, 85c) and without a watermark (К3-14.3, 85d). The lozenge paper came from the First Moscow factory of Goznak, the rest from the Rostov one. Specimens are perforated «ОБРАЗЕЦ».

Both sides are printed in dark blue; the reverse sits on a guilloché background with an ornate value panel in the centre. The size of the note varies noticeably, because the sheets were cut by hand.
