Special facts

The Turov Gospel on the back is one of the oldest written monuments of Belarus, dating from the eleventh century; ten leaves of it survive, found in Turov in 1865.

Appearance

Twenty-rouble note, a revised printing of the 2009 design, put into circulation in 23 March 2020. The front shows the Rumyantsev-Paskevich Palace in Gomel; the back a collage on spirituality: a bell, the Turau Gospel, the ancient town of Turau and carved ornament. A light filigree numeral was added to the watermark and the security thread is wider than on the 2009 issue. The signature is absent. Size 143 × 72 mm. Printed by Goznak, Moscow.
