Special facts

The Cross of Euphrosyne of Polotsk on the back was made in 1161 by the jeweller Lazar Bogsha. The original vanished during the Second World War, and in 1997 the Brest craftsman Mikalai Kuzmich recreated it.

Appearance

Ten-rouble note, a revised printing of the 2009 design, put into circulation in 20 May 2019. The front shows the Church of the Saviour and Transfiguration in Polotsk, Vitebsk Region; the back a collage on enlightenment and printing: the sign of Francysk Skaryna, the Cross of Euphrosyne of Polotsk and an ornament fragment. A light filigree numeral was added to the watermark and the security thread is wider than on the 2009 issue. The signature is absent. Size 139 × 72 mm. Printed by Goznak, Moscow.
