Under Alexander III the hundred rubles of the 1866 pattern was printed until 1894, longer than any other value of the series.
Appearance
One-hundred-rouble note of the 1866 pattern with the monogram of Alexander III: light beige front, a rainbow back with an oval portrait of Empress Catherine II (after the 1792 portrait by Lampi). Dated 1882, 1884, 1886, 1889, 1890, 1892 and 1894. The manager's signature changes with the date, so every date is a separate variety; the 1896 note with the monogram of Nicholas II has its own Pick number and is listed separately. Size 217 × 120 mm. Watermark: a figured frame with a light oval and a ribbon "СТО РУБЛЕЙ".
About the period
The State Credit Notes of the 1866 pattern were printed for almost thirty years: first with the monogram of Alexander II, and from 1882 with that of Alexander III. The backs of the higher denominations carry portraits of Russian rulers. More about the period “State credit notes”, 1866 — 1886
