Special facts
In the summer of 1942 the front line ran through Voronezh: the right-bank part of the city was in enemy hands for more than half a year, while Soviet troops held the left bank. Voronezh was founded in 1586 as a fortress and received the title of City of Military Glory in 2008. The 10-rouble coin "Voronezh" was issued in 2012 in the "Cities of Military Glory" series.
