Appearance and specimens
The 5-rouble note is recognised by its blue-green colour: dark blue-green print on an underprint of the same tone, and a blue-green back patterned all over. The layout is that of all the small-format notes: the RSFSR emblem at the top, the value below it, the legal text at the bottom. Specimens with a red overprint are known singly and as a pair of obverse and reverse.
About the period
The small-format state currency notes of 1922 are the size of a large postage stamp, about 36 × 66 mm. In effect they served as kopecks. More about the period “State currency notes, stamp type”, 1922
