Special facts

During the Great Patriotic War dozens of military hospitals worked in Borovichi, and the town's factories, among them Krasny Keramik, made mortars, mines and shells for the front. Borovichi on the Msta has long been famed for its fireclays, and the rapids by the town were the main obstacle on the Vyshny Volochyok waterway. The 10-rouble coin "Borovichi" was issued in 2021 in the "Cities of Labour Valour" series.

About the period

Modern Russia is the money after the redenomination of 1998, when a thousand old roubles became one new rouble. The coins and banknotes of the 1997 pattern are still in circulation. More about the period “Modern Russia”, 1997 — to present
