The 2021 coin of the "Man of Labour" series is dedicated to oil and gas workers; the industry accounts for more than a quarter of Russia's industrial output and largely shapes the state budget. Russia is one of the world’s largest producers of oil and gas; the main fields lie in Western Siberia, where Samotlor and Urengoy were discovered in the 1960s.
