Special facts

Gorokhovets in the Vladimir Region is first mentioned in 1239. The town on the Klyazma has preserved a group of 17th-century stone merchant houses, rare for a provincial town. The town stood on the old road from Vladimir to Nizhny Novgorod, and the 17th-century St. Nicholas Monastery rises above it. A coin of the "Ancient Towns of Russia" series, 2018.

About the period

Modern Russia is the money after the redenomination of 1998, when a thousand old roubles became one new rouble. The coins and banknotes of the 1997 pattern are still in circulation. More about the period “Modern Russia”, 1997 — to present
