Series and cashiers

Only one series was printed, АА: blocks 001–035 of a million notes each, 35 million altogether. Nine cashiers take turns in step with the block number — block 1 Sellyava, 2 Dyukov, 3 Silaev, 4 Porokhov, 5 Sapunov, 6 Smirnov, 7 Belyaev, 8 Gerasimov, 9 Kozlov — and then the cycle starts again. Each of them signed four blocks, Kozlov three.

Appearance and specimens

The printing is orange. The obverse has the state coat of arms at upper left, with the value and signatures within a decorative frame at the centre; the reverse has text stating the value and that the note must be accepted for payment at the centre, with the value in guilloches on the left and right. The note measures 135 × 67 mm. On the pair of uniface specimens the perforation is horizontal, «ОБРАЗЕЦЪ».

About the period

The state currency notes of the 1922 pattern were the first money after the redenomination: the new rouble was set equal to 10,000 roubles of all earlier issues. More about the period “State currency notes”, 1922
