Special facts

A two-kopek piece of 1757–1762 with the value below Saint George, struck at the Krasny, Saint Petersburg, Yekaterinburg and Sestroretsk mints. In 1757–1758 the Sestroretsk Mint made such coins by overstriking cut-down Swedish coins.

About the period

The coins of Elizabeth Petrovna belong to the time of the first imperials: in 1755 the gold 10 roubles, called imperials, and the 5 roubles, the half-imperials, appeared. Copper was changed several times over the twenty years of the reign too. More about the period “Elizabeth”, 1741 — 1762

Coins and banknotes of these years: 1757, 1758, 1759, 1760, 1761, 1762
