The second Belarusian rouble (2000–2016)

The second Belarusian rouble (BYR) appeared on 1 January 2000 after a 1,000-to-1 redenomination. All notes are dated 2000, but they were issued until 2012: the 10,000 roubles came in 2001, the 20,000 in 2002, the 100,000 in 2005 and the 200,000 in 2012. In 2010–2011 some denominations were reissued in a modified form (series "b": a segmented thread, and a changed spelling of the value on the 50 and 50,000 roubles). The issues include commemorative ones: the 20,000 roubles for the 20th anniversary of the National Bank (2010), the 20 roubles for its 10th anniversary (2001), the "MILLENNIUM" set (1 October 2001, an overprint on seven denominations) and the "Mir Castle" note (22 May 2003, 1,000 copies). They were withdrawn between 2003 and 2017.
