Special facts

The Bolshoi Theatre design lived on banknotes for twenty years: from 1996 on the 100,000 rubles, then on the 100 rubles until the redenomination of 2016.

Appearance

100-rouble note of the Belarusian rouble (BYR), dated 2000. The front shows the Grand Opera and Ballet Theatre in Minsk; the back a scene from the ballet "Vybranitsa" by E. Glebov. Watermark: a ballerina in a pose. Size 150 × 69 mm. Put into circulation on 1 January 2000, withdrawn from circulation on 1 January 2017.

About the period

The 2000 banknotes appeared after the redenomination of 1 January 2000, when a thousand old roubles became one new rouble (code BYR). All of them are dated 2000, although large denominations kept being added for another twelve years. More about the period “Issue of 2000”, 2000 — 2016
