Special facts

During the war the shipbuilders of Komsomolsk-on-Amur made the missing machinery themselves and delivered the cruiser Kaganovich to the navy in 1944; in 1941–1945 the yard handed nine new warships to the navy. The city bears the name of the Komsomol volunteers who came to build it. The 10-rouble coin "Komsomolsk-on-Amur" was issued in 2026 in the "Cities of Labour Valour" series.
