Canada — Issue of 1967-1979
The Scenes of Canada series is the Bank of Canada’s first multicoloured series: the 20 dollars of 1969, 10 dollars of 1971, 5 of 1972, 1 of 1973, 2 of 1974, and 50 and 100 dollars of 1975. The face shows the queen on the 1, 2 and 20 dollars and prime ministers on the rest: Laurier on the 5, Macdonald on the 10, Mackenzie King on the 50 and Borden on the 100 dollars.
The backs show the country from coast to coast: Parliament in Ottawa seen from the river, Inuit hunters on Baffin Island, a seiner off the British Columbia coast, an oil refinery in Sarnia, Moraine Lake in the Rockies, the RCMP Musical Ride and Lunenburg harbour. In 1979 the 5 and 20 dollars were redesigned with the serial number moved to the back. The commemorative dollar of 1967 for the centenary of Confederation also belongs here.
