Appearance
Green print on both sides: the denomination at the corners and at centre left, the USSR coat of arms at upper left, a portrait of Lenin at right. The ground is multicolour -- dark green, violet and pink tones. The value is written out in 11 languages at left, centre and lower right. Size: 180 × 91 mm. Unlike the 1- and 3-chervonets notes, this denomination has no "small/small" series-prefix format. Design by Ivan Dubasov.
About the period
The chervonets notes of the 1937 pattern are State Bank of the USSR notes in 1, 3, 5 and 10 chervontsev, the last to carry the word "chervonets" and the first Soviet banknotes with a portrait of Lenin. More about the period “Chervonets”, 1937
