Treasury notes of the People's Commissariat of Finance of the USSR

Казначейские билеты Наркомфина СССР образца 1924-1928 годов — «золоторублёвые» билеты (1, 3, 5 золотых рублей 1924 года и 1 золотой рубль 1928 года) и первые обычные рублёвые билеты (3 и 5 рублей 1925 года). Название «золотой рубль» на знаке отражало довоенную привязку к золотому номиналу, хотя по сути это тот же рубль — просто более раннее по времени выпуска название той же денежной единицы. Печатал Гознак. Билеты подписывал народный комиссар финансов (Сокольников, затем Брюханов) совместно с одним из нескольких кассиров.

Appearance

Black print on both sides over a yellow, blue-green and red underprint. The obverse has the USSR coat of arms at top centre, the denomination at centre over a sheaf of wheat and a guilloché, with signatures below. The reverse has the denomination over a guilloché at centre, the value spelled out in six languages around it, the date at lower centre. The watermark comes in two widths -- narrow (55 mm) and wide (65 mm) -- tied to different serial-number ranges. Size: 155 × 82 mm.
