Special facts

Paul I’s polushka of 2.56 grams with his monogram, from 1797–1800. It was struck at the Anninsky, Yekaterinburg and Suzun mints; in 1799 Yekaterinburg issued only 11,200 polushkas.

About the period

The coins of Paul I are coins without a portrait: instead of the emperor's profile, the roubles, poltinas and gold 5 roubles bear a cross of four crowned "П" monograms and the inscription "Не намъ, не намъ, а имяни Твоему" (Not unto us, not unto us, but unto Thy name).
