USSR — Gosbank transitional issue (1991 — 1992)
The transitional Gosbank issue of 1991–1992 was the last Soviet money. It appeared with the "Pavlov" reform and circulated in independent Russia until it was replaced by Bank of Russia money.
In January 1991 the 50 and 100-rouble notes of the 1961 pattern were withdrawn, and new ones dated 1991 were issued. Then came notes from 1 to 1,000 roubles of the 1991 pattern and coins from 10 kopecks to 10 roubles; the 10-rouble coin was bimetallic. The 50, 200, 500 and 1,000-rouble notes dated 1992 were printed after the collapse of the USSR but still bore the title "State Bank Note of the USSR".
Banknotes of Soviet patterns were withdrawn from circulation in Russia on 26 July 1993.
