Russian Federation — Issue of 1995

The banknotes of the 1995 pattern, from 1,000 to 500,000 roubles, were the first devoted to Russian cities rather than Moscow alone: Vladivostok on the 1,000 roubles, Veliky Novgorod on the 5,000, Krasnoyarsk on the 10,000, Saint Petersburg on the 50,000, Moscow with the Bolshoi Theatre quadriga on the 100,000 and Arkhangelsk on the 500,000 roubles, with the Solovetsky Monastery on the back.

The designs of the five highest denominations passed to the money of the 1997 pattern: 5,000 roubles became 5 roubles, 10,000 became 10 roubles, and so on.
