Kyrgyzstan — Som (1995 — to present)
The som was introduced on 10 May 1993 in place of the Russian rouble and is divided into 100 tyiyn. The National Bank issued circulation coins only in 2008–2009: from 1 tyiyn to 10 som, in a single set of designs that is still in use. Collector coins have been issued since 1995 (the first for the 1000th anniversary of the Manas epic): silver, gold and copper-nickel, with colour enamel, gilding and inserts.
